Tall Yarns 'n Tales is the name of a brand new business retailing knitting yarn, patterns, needles and dye. A small pilot range was launched at the Knitting and Stitching Shows in October and November 2008. In the Spring of 2009, this launch was backed up with the launch of a second collection of dyes. September saw the publication of Knit One Dye One, a book that describes easy and fast dyeing recipes to create your own heirloom yarns, as well as giving you a range of cool knitting patterns. The patterns cater for a range of knitting abilities. All are aimed at creating timeless pieces; if you make the effort of dyeing your own personal yarn, it's worth knitting something with it that you will want to wear and/or keep for a long time! In November I introduced the first of my Tales, a Knittting Smock. It is step one of what will gradually grow into a capsule collection of clothes for Spinner, Weavers, Dyers, Knitters and those to whom they appeal. The Knitting Smocks are offered in 3 sizes, all in small, limited edition ranges of exclusive, high quality Irish and Italian linen. I strive for high quality in everything I offer and with a strong emphasis on natural fibres. The reason my products are also affordable is simple: everyone involved with getting them to you is passionate about yarn and more interested to spread the yarn than to grow rich in the process. I am only dealing with small, UK based companies and aim to develop valued, long-lasting trading relationships with both my suppliers as well as my customers.
